When I completed my first full 70.3 triathlon race in 2019, I thought, how great it would be to one day have a team to share this with. A team — each training, sculpting, and excelling in what they do best, to create an unforgettable experience for self-advancement and team collaboration.
I’ve always had it in the back of my mind, wishing upon it, contemplating on Paulo Coelho’s famous quote: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
And just like that, Tri-Allxon happened!
Thanks to the growth of Allxon and the passion that runs common amongst us, we placed 3rd in the Ironman 70.3 mixed relay 2022. It was indeed a pleasant surprise, but an even greater realization knowing we share common practices and perspectives about these journeys. The training strategies and self-discipline that goes into this endurance game is not much different to that found in the workspace.
As every competitor kicks off their race at different times, you learn to not be affected by those around you. It is between you, yourself, and your team. With the long journey ahead, we learn to keep our pace, our balance, and our focus. And the focus is on excelling, not succeeding, as the pursuit of excellence will naturally bring success. Focusing on mastering your craft is the way forward and upward. With the same discipline, grit, and determination, our goals are only a practice away.
I used to think I engaged in this sport a little too late, but Life has an interesting way of contradicting you. These moments and milestone couldn’t have come at a better time. There are so many aspirations yet to be realized, but patience has its virtues, and with it came a passionate team I can share and celebrate our collective achievements with — in and out of the office.
