Introduction
The Widget Alias tool makes it easy to create widget aliases and seamlessly integrate the generated URLs into your management platform for smoother operations. It provides a direct link for CMS integration, granting immediate access to the Allxon Portal and its features. This guide walks you through navigating the Service Widget page, managing widget aliases, and simplifying the integration process step by step.
Generate Widget Alias
-
Head over to Allxon Portal, click on the account icon
, then select Allxon Service Widget.
-
Locate the device or group you wish to generate a widget alias for and then click on the Generate button.
- A dialog box will appear showing the Widget Alias generating. Once completed, click on the Next button.
- After successfully generating your Widget Alias, select one of the following link options: A Link with All Features or Separate Links for Individual Features.
a. Selecting A Link with All Features will generate a single URL granting access to all features. To proceed, click on the Done button to take you back to the main page.
b. Selecting Separate Links for Individual Features will generate separate URL’s for each feature. Add the preferred URL links manually, then click on the Done button to take you back to the main page.
Failed Generated Widget Alias
If the widget alias fails to generate, an error message will appear at the top of the page. Click the Generate button again to attempt re-generating the alias.
Manage Successfully Generated Widget Alias
- Once the widget alias has been successfully generated, it will appear in the Widget Alias column of the corresponding device or group. Click on the View Detail button to review additional details about the widget alias.
- In the Widget Alias Detail dialog, you'll find the link you just generated under either the A Link with Selected Features tab or the Separate Links for Each Feature tab. Once you're done, simply click on the Done button to close the dialog.
Delete Widget Alias
- Identify the device or group whose widget alias you wish to delete and click on the Delete button.
- Once the confirmation dialog box pops up, click on the Delete button to confirm and finalize the widget alias deletion.
- A confirmation message will appear on the top right corner to show the widget alias has been successfully deleted. Ensure the deleted widget alias no longer appears in the Widget Alias column of the main page.
- If the deletion fails, an error message will appear at the top-right corner and the widget alias will still be shown in the Widget Alias column of the main page. Click on the Delete button again to re-start the deletion process.
💡Note: If users first generate a standalone OOB link and an inband device link separately, then later link the OOB to the inband device, both links will remain valid. However, the widget alias will display only the link for the inband device.
