How to Adjust System Configuration on Ubuntu Devices Without Monitors to Trigger Power Functions Correctly?
In the GUI-activated Ubuntu operating system, a countdown dialog appears when users press the Power Off button, as shown in the following figure.
However, when the system runs without a connected monitor, the Power Off dialog does not appear. As a result, the shutdown process cannot proceed as intended, leaving the system unable to power off properly. This issue also affects the Switch Off and Power Scheduling functionalities provided by our out-of-band enabler, as they depend on the proper execution of the system's shutdown mechanism.
For such use cases, refer to the Option 2 method described in the following article:
By setting a deny policy at the PolKit level, the system's shutdown event can bypass the Power Off dialog, ensuring proper shutdown even when the monitor is disconnected. Please note that this configuration adjustment requires a reboot to take effect. After the reboot, our out-of-band power-related features should function as expected.
